TLC awards community funding
17 December 2019
Sports clubs, quilt-makers and Christmas all feature in the latest round of community funding from The Lines Company (TLC).
Recipients of TLC’s latest funding round have been awarded $5,100 from the $65,000 to be distributed this financial year.
Successful applicants include the Coast Sports Athletic Club who will celebrate 100 years in 2020. Turangi’s Christmas in the Park, a free, family-friendly event organised by Safe Turangi has also been supported.
Tongaporutu Summer Events has also received funding to support a long-running summer events programme. Ruapehu Quilt Makers have also received funding to purchase fabric used to make quilts for local homes and children.
TLC will once again support 2020 Good Neighbours Day in Taumarunui.
Funding applications to TLC’s community fund are specifically encouraged for events or projects which support children, youth and whanau, or projects focused on energy efficiency.
TLC’s community funding is separate from its support of the independent Maru Energy Trust which helps keep local homes warm through its free insulation programme.
The next TLC funding round will open in March 31 next year.
