Only essential line work continues

15 April 2020

Essential work to keep King Country customers connected to electricity will continue while the country is in lockdown.

But The Lines Company (TLC) has confirmed that other upgrade work has been put on hold to protect the safety of their staff and the wider community.

While the lockdown is in place TLC’s lines crews will only respond to faults, or carry out essential inspections and maintenance to ensure electricity continues to be supplied.

Field staff will be required to follow even stricter safety protocols than usual and will don masks, gloves and other protective equipment when working in close proximity to others, or when they need to enter customer premises.

TLC chief executive Sean Horgan has confirmed that all staff that can, are working from, home and that “work is continuing well across the business despite our teams working remotely.”

People can still call TLC on 0800 367 546 or contact the company via its website or Facebook, he said.
